The Senior Developer role sits within the Delivery & Operations pillar of the Digital, Data and Technology Group.

As a Senior Developer (SITS) within the Applications & Integration group, the postholder will work on the University’s Student Record System – a critical system for recruiting students, managing their academic journey, and awarding degrees.

They will be responsible for the development, configuration, support, and maintenance of the University’s Tribal SITS software, along with related applications, services, and integrations.

The Senior Developer (SITS) will join a small team working closely with data owners across the University – including Admissions, Academic Registry, and Finance – to ensure the system is configured to support the efficient operation of the institution. The University is currently migrating its core applications to cloud platforms, and experience with similar migrations (even on different systems) will be of interest.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in supporting and configuring commercial off-the-shelf applications, as well as integrating these systems within a broader enterprise ecosystem.

In addition to in-application configuration, candidates will need technical skills in HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Git, and related tools.

  • The role title 'Senior Developer (SITS)' is for advertising purposes only. If successful, your role title will be Senior Developer (Student Systems).
  • This role includes a market supplement of £4,000 in addition to the base salary scale. The total salary range displayed above reflects the base salary plus market supplement.

Capital Works Project Manager

This role offers an outstanding opportunity to lead vital upcoming projects with budgets up to £100 million each across our diverse estate, from our original accommodation and facilities through to new campus upgrades.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of multiple, simultaneous complex projects within our diverse estate environment. This involves close liaison with clients to manage external assessments, design management, contract management, contractor management on-site, strategic procurement, and project handovers.

You’ll take ownership from day one, through to the completion and occupation of buildings.

Small Works and Refurbishments Project Manager

Within this role, you’ll work on a varied set of projects from small (e.g. lighting, carpets, painting) to large-scale maintenance, such as lab installations (e.g. lab gases, benching, power/data for specialist equipment).

You’ll manage expectations and liaise with academics and contractors to ensure your projects are delivered safely and on time.

Both roles involve developing cohesive project teams, ensuring that all team members are aligned and working towards common goals. By working closely with various clients and stakeholders, you will guarantee seamless project performance and maintain high standards through quality assurance and risk assessments.

To ensure all aspects are on track and within scope, you will closely monitor project performance, successfully implementing solutions by leading external consultants and contractors, coordinating both the legal and practical aspects of NEC and JCT contracts. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively, meeting all necessary requirements, budgets and client expectations.

You’ll join a growing team managing capital development and day-to-day maintenance projects. We are a supportive, flexible team that promotes a positive work-life balance. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2-3 days on campus per week.

We’re looking for a Research Accountant to join our team to take the lead on the financial accounting and reporting of the University’s research activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly accounting of research costs and preparing quarterly/annual accounts
  • Providing research income and overhead estimates for departmental planning purposes
  • Offering advice to financial and non-financial stakeholders, building strong working relationships
  • Maintaining detailed reports, supporting external returns (e.g. HESA), and ensuring accuracy of data
  • Acting as Finance Business Partner for Research Institutes and Core Research Facilities, supporting budget planning, financial monitoring and overhead calculations

The role sits within the Management Information Section (MIS) team. We provide financial support to Academic and Professional Services departments, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.

The department is based in the Virgil Building in the centre of Bath and there will be a requirement to work on the main campus at times, however, hybrid working is one of the many ways we recognise the importance of achieving a positive work life balance. Core responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of key activities, meetings and events.

  • Experience in a similar coordination role
  • The ability to work pro-actively, flexibly, occasionally to tight deadlines and excellent communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders

ºù«Ӱҵ the role

You will form a crucial part of the Technical Services team, being able to work in response to patterns of greatest need, focussing on the Acquisitions and Copy and Print areas. There is also capacity for you to work in and explore other areas of the library, to broaden your knowledge and demonstrate the range of  library roles.

Additionally, there will be the opportunity to engage fully with development events and training, learn about the work of the Library service as a whole, and engage with libraries beyond the University, as well as undertaking cross-library project group work. Membership of the Library's Staff Development Group and the Library Engagement Group are offered - and these can give exciting opportunities to get involved with student engagement and social media.

There is an expectation that you will work towards Certification with CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) during your tenure. This Certification is recognised by the post-nominals ACLIP, and completion before undertaking the qualification is recommended, to give weight to your ongoing application process. The University also offers staff a wide range of training and development courses.

ºù«Ӱҵ you

You will be an accomplished, versatile communicator and a proactive team player, keen to kick-start your career in the library and information profession!

We are looking for someone with excellent customer services skills, who enjoys working in a frontline environment, as you will be dealing directly with users of the University Library. You will also have flexibility, and the ability to undertake process-driven, detail-oriented work in a backroom capacity.

You will have the opportunity to engage with students, and help create promotional events for the library, so creativity and a collaborative approach will be welcomed.

Therefore, you will be a reliable and committed team worker, with:
